ZOVAL 400 MG Tablet – Description

Active Ingredient: Sofosbuvir 400 mg (a direct-acting antiviral agent).

Pharmaceutical Class: Antiviral medicine; specifically a nucleotide analogue inhibitor targeting hepatitis C virus replication.

Mechanism of Action: Sofosbuvir works by interfering with the NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, a key enzyme that the hepatitis C virus (HCV) uses to copy its genetic material. By acting as a chain terminator during viral RNA synthesis, it disrupts the virus’s ability to replicate and spread within the liver.

Primary Use: Treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adults.
